Liberty Bank, N.A. named to Weatherhead 100 list of fastest growing companies

December 6, 2007; Beachwood, Ohio -- Beachwood-based Liberty Bank, N. A. today announced that the bank has been recognized as a 2007 Weatherhead 100 winner. Presented by Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management and the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), the Weatherhead 100 program recognizes the fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio.

A first-time Weatherhead 100 winner, Liberty Bank ranked 43rd out of 100 with 272.15% in sales growth. Using a ranking system, The Weatherhead 100 identified the 100 fastest growing companies based on sales from 2002 through 2006.

"We're thrilled to receive the Weatherhead 100 honor as 2006 was the most profitable year in the history of Liberty Bank," said William A. Valerian, Chairman & CEO of Liberty Bank, N.A. "We anticipate a profit for 2007 well in excess of the record profits of 2006. This positive momentum should carry through to 2008 and, with the additional deposits, capital and product offering as a result of our pending merger with Century Bank, provide a platform for even greater growth."

"The Weatherhead 100 companies serve as a beacon to all businesses in Northeast Ohio," said Dr. N. Mohan Reddy, dean of The Weatherhead School of Management. "This year's list is a testament that the region's entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.

This year's winners represent a wide range of industries, including technology, health care, professional services, insurance, manufacturing and human resources.

Lou Licata, chairman of COSE, said, "Despite the challenges of the national and regional economy, the Weatherhead 100 companies have forged ahead successfully for five consecutive years, growing their businesses and exceeding their own expectations and those of others. We applaud them."

Founded in 1987 by The Weatherhead School of Management, the Weatherhead 100 has been a leading honor bestowed on Northeast Ohio businesses. Since its inception, more than 2,500 entrepreneurs have achieved the extraordinary business growth required for winning. (
